Treadmills as power sources originated in antiquity. These ancient machines came in three major designs. The first was to have a horizontal bar jutting out of a vertical shaft. It rotated around a vertical axis, driven by an ox or other animal walking in a circle pushing the bar. Even humans were used to power them. The second design was a vertical wheel, a treadwheel, that was powered through climbing in place instead of walking in circles. This is similar to what we know today as the hamster wheel. The third design also required climbing but used a sloped, moving platform instead.
The forerunner of the dumbbell, halteres, were used in ancient Greece as lifting weights and also as weights in the ancient Greek version of the long jump. A kind of dumbbell was also used in India for more than a millennium, shaped like a club – so it was named Indian club. Despite their common English name implying an Indian origin, the so-called Indian clubs were in fact created in the Near East. Properly referred to as meels, they are first recorded as being used by wrestlers in ancient Persia, Egypt and the Middle East. The practice has continued to the present day, notably in the Varzesh-e Bastan tradition practiced in the zurkaneh of Iran. From Persia, the Mughals brought the meels to South Asia where are still used by pehlwan (wrestlers). British colonists first came across Persian meels in India, and erroneously referred to them as "Indian clubs" despite their Middle Eastern origin. The design of the "Nal", as the equipment was referred to, can be seen as a halfway point between a barbell and a dumbbell. It was generally used in pairs, in workouts by wrestlers, bodybuilders, sports players, and others wishing to increase strength and muscle size.
A better placement option for the heart rate monitor sensors, would have been on the moving “Multi-Grip Handles”. That way you can move your arms back and forth while getting a heart rate reading. I chose an elliptical machine so that I could work out my arms & my legs simultaneously and the current heart rate monitor sensor doesn’t allow that. Another annoyance is that it takes a couple of minutes before the machine will read my heart rate. I think the sensor is a bit too sensitive on the finger(s) placement. So for a couple of minutes, I’m not moving my arms getting the workout I wanted. Again, this is nothing major but the machine has this feature, so why not be able to utilize it effectively? I plan on getting an external heart rate monitor (the kind you strap around your chest) so that I can keep both of my arms moving during my entire workout.
Having a treadmill at home helps you overcome those pesky obstacles that get in the way of a more active lifestyle. First off, it offers the convenience of a cardio work out from home, day or night, rain or shine. It also frees up time by saving you the trip to the gym. What's more, a treadmill lets you do other things while you run like read a book or watch TV, making your workouts as entertaining as they are productive.
I'm quite happy with my purchase. The rubber coating is of good quality and the paint ob the grip seems be last forever. I have dumbbells of this series, purchased few years ago from Treadmill Factory, and the quality is still almost identical. Definitely recommend them. The only complain I had was the grease residue left of the product that I had some difficulty cleaning off. Still a great product to use.

Most Treadmills have adjustable rear leveling feet. Make sure that the running surface is level. If the treadmill is placed on a uneven surface, adjusting the rear feet can help, but may not completely compensate for extremely uneven surfaces. Treadmills that are not level can cause misalignment of the belt, uneven belt wear, and possible injuries for the user.

May cause personal injury if not used properly. Of particular concern are children who reach into the treadmill belt while it is running and suffer severe friction burns that may require multiple skin grafts and result in lasting disability. Injury to children can be avoided by removing the safety key when the treadmill is not in use, without which, the treadmill belt will not start.
